What's so special about Sun Vision Display?

The secret: Reflective color LCD technology.

Instead of using a backlight like other LCDs, Sun Vision Display panels have a mirrored layer installed behind the liquid crystal layer that reflects ambient light back to the viewer. As sunlight intensity increases, so does the panel's brightness - all while consuming very little power. ï»¿

Energy Efficient

Reflective LCDs consume far less energy than other types of display technologies. To give some perspective, Sun Vision Display’s 32” reflective color LCD panel uses less than 6 watts. That’s about 95% less power than comparably-sized high-brightness LCDs commonly used in digital signage applications. While other technologies require a 110-220V power source, Sun Vision Display panels can be powered by a 12V battery.

Not only does reducing your power consumption lower your operating costs and environmental impact, it means you can put your display in remote areas where it wasn't possible before.

Sun Loving

Backlit LCDs provide excellent visibility indoors, but require high-brightness backlights to produce enough brightness for for direct sunlight readability - 1000 nits or more, to be exact. All that brightness requires a lot of power to operate, making traditional high-brightness LCD signage costly in multiple ways.

Sun Vision Display panels actually turn sunlight into an asset through their reflective LCD technology. The brighter the sun shines on the display, the brighter the Sun Vision Display panel's image becomes. All while consuming almost no power (less than 5 watts). Sun Vision Display panels are an excellent solution for sunny locations!

Like A Feather

Sun Vision Display panels are incredibly thin and lightweight. They don't use a backlight, and consequently don't require any sort of ventillation mechanism to cool down a backlight. This shaves off quite a bit of bulk compared to other LCD digital signage technologies. It also makes them far easier to install and maneuver than notoriously challanging LED signage.

All-Weather Signage

Sun Vision Display’s reflective color LCD panels can operate in temperatures ranging from -20°C to +70°C. This is a significant improvement compared to some other reflective LCD technologies, such as E-paper displays which have an operating temperature range of 0C to 50C.

Furthermore, without a backlight, reflective color LCDs are less likely to overheat and can withstand higher external temperatures than some other display types. They can also be ruggedized to withstand moisture, wind and impact.

Digital signage that loves the sun!

Sun Vision Display signs are an ideal solution for the sunny spots of your restaurant or entertainment venue where other digital signage falls short. Most other signage requires high power to compete with intense sunlight, but ours doesn't! We'd love to show you how you can engage with your guests in those prime locations where you couldn't before, and save energy in the meantime!
